Catechists

The catechists who teach the faith in our parishes and villages.

The catechists (መምህራን ትምህርተ ክርስቶስ) teach the faith, prepare for the sacraments and lead prayer where there is no priest.

Their mission

  • Teaching the faith

To children, young people and adults, in the parish and in the villages.

  • Preparing for the sacraments

Baptism, first communion, confirmation and marriage.

  • Leading the Sunday prayer

In the villages where the priest cannot come every Sunday.

  • Visiting the sick and the families

Bringing prayer, comfort and the care of the Church.
